This is one of the biggest async concepts.

At 10:00:00:

source customer updated

At 10:00:01:

event published

At 10:00:03:

Salesforce updated

For two seconds:

source != Salesforce

That's eventual consistency.

The systems converge eventually rather than staying atomically synchronized at every instant.
