9.6System APIs should be system-oriented

A System API shouldn't usually contain giant business workflows.

Good:

get customer
upsert customer
get contacts
create case
query opportunities

Less good:

approve mortgage
calculate customer eligibility
orchestrate five systems

Those belong at another layer.

Think:

System API = reusable access layer to a system of record.
