8.16A current 2026 detail worth remembering

Salesforce Connector 12.0.0, released July 21, 2026, removed the old OAuth Username Password connection type because Salesforce is retiring that flow. It also requires Java 17. MuleSoft recommends moving to supported flows such as OAuth 2.0, Client Credentials, JWT, or SAML.

This means don't walk into the interview enthusiastically proposing:
