Whenever you add an external call, ask:

What can fail?

Is failure transient or permanent?

Did failure definitely mean nothing was committed?

Can I safely retry?

How many attempts?

What delay/backoff?

What happens after retries exhaust?

Does caller need immediate failure?

Could work be queued?

Do we support partial success?

Do we need compensation?

How do we trace it?

What do we log?

What must NOT be logged?

If you ask those questions during the interview, you will sound much more experienced than somebody who simply knows Mule component syntax.
