7.34Retry should usually be narrow

Good:

Until Successful
    ↓
HTTP Request to temporarily unreliable service

Less good:

Until Successful

    Query
    Create
    Send email
    Publish event
    Update database

because now you have to reason about what gets duplicated on each attempt.

Rule:

Keep retry scopes as small and idempotent as practical.
